Scuba lessons are generally the first step towards becoming a scuba diver. Many locations are available for taking lessons including dedicated dive schools, dive shops, as well as vacation and dive resorts. The types of locations and amenities will vary from one location to another and it is a good idea to check what they offer before scheduling your dive lessons. During your training, you will learn about using standardized equipment while practicing in both confined, as well as open water diving, all under direct dive instructor supervision.
Part of the training also includes a standard class that includes the use of instructional materials as well as a series of examinations that test your general knowledge. Certification classes are usually completed over the course of three to four days as long as you have done the written portion at home or online. Some locations even have evening classes in order to meet virtually everyone’s scheduling needs.
